WHO WE ARE

7 Sisters One Heart is A Non-Profit Organization. We provide gifts, nourishment, love, support, and hope during the holiday season and throughout the year .   My name is Nancy D. Soto,  I am the Founder of 7 Sisters One Heart. I started this small charity 26 years ago after the birth of my older son.  I felt extremely blessed in my life after becoming a mother.  I myself grew up in an impoverished area of New York and wanted to give back.  In 1991 with the help of my local parish I adopted my first family for Christmas.

Throughout the years it has grown into a loving family venture consisting of 6 more women and their families, thus came our name 7 Sister’s who share One heart; whom engage in one purpose,  and by speaking through one voice have been able to bring the joy of Christmas to many families.  Sometimes  the families consist of  a Mom and Dad and other times there is a single Mom and her children. All of these families have suffered the loss of economic stability and are unable to provide the simplest and most essential needs of food, shelter  clothing and a gift for the Holidays.  We bring the joy of the Holidays to one family at a time. To date I have served over 50 families.

WHAT WE DO

We accomplish our mission every year  by making sure that each family that we serve  is treated with dignity, respect, and honor. We purchase gifts for every family member along with the essentials they might need.  The volunteers wrap each  gift and combine them with a  food box for the holiday meal. We include food  provisions that will last more than a week along with festive ingredients for a holiday meal and a sumptuous breakfast christmas morning.

We purchase toys and gifts for the children, as well as  jackets, hats, scarves, warm socks, boots, blankets, and slippers for all family members.  On many occasions  even a Christmas Tree with ornaments and lights is provided for the  family to enjoy. All of it brings the spirit of Christmas to the family as well as to those who provide the gift of Christmas.  7 Sister’s One Heart has truly been a source of inspiration that has grown to become more than any of us could have ever imagined.

We are able to continue the gift of giving through donations made by individuals such as yourself and the corporate sponsors who provide us with trees, lights and ornaments that the families do not have.  Every dollar I receive goes directly to the families.  All of our services are provided by volunteers who shop for each family individually and lovingly wrap the gifts as well as, shop for each families dietary needs.

OUR GOAL

Our goal this year 2016 is to raise $7,500.  This will allow us to serve 15 families this holiday season.

We accomplish this beautiful gift through generous donations from individuals such as you. The volunteers deliver the gifts on Christmas Eve while singing Christmas carols, playing instruments and spreading joy.

The mission of 7 Sisters is to serve 100 families during a holiday season. We are taking steps to make this a possibility.

FACTS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY WE CURRENTLY SERVE

Paterson, New Jersey has 146,000 residents and 52% are single female households with children under the age of 17.  Forty percent of the population in Paterson, NJ has a yearly income under $25,000. As an organization, we meet our families through community organizations that serve the impoverished such as Oasis, which is located on Mill Street in Paterson.  We look to serve this community by bringing them the gift of Christmas through gifts, caroling, and food.  Each family receives a delivery on December 24th by volunteers dressed in festive attire and singing Christmas Carols.
